We were very sorry to hear of the death of Rosemary Brown, who was until earlier this year one of the District Councillors for Hullbridge.

Rosemary spent many years on the council, making her debut back in the 80s, and was a past chairman. She had a definite sense of humour and Rosemary showed great courage in battling on as a councillor during recent years despite formidable health problems. In her heyday she was one of the more steely voices on the Conservative benches and a powerful speaker.

Her memorial service will take place on Monday, 15 November at midday at St Thomas Church, Ferry Road, Hullbridge. Donations to Macmillan Nurses, please, in lieu of flowers.
