The roadworks are back in Rawreth Lane again, after their Christmas break.

Any comments on this ? If you use Rawreth Lane at the moment, how bad is it for you?

UPDATE ON JAN 6TH: We understand that Rawreth Parish Council have just written to County Highways as follows:

The issues at Priory Chase were raised again by the public at the Rawreth Parish Council Meeting this week. The consensus of opinion was that the traffic situation in the road and at the junction still raises serious safety concerns. The major concerns are speed and mud on the road. Can you please once again raise this issue with the appropriate Highways Engineers that more pressure is brought on the contractors to make this access safe for the residents and school children that need to use it.

  • These roadworks are an accident waiting to happen. The volume of traffic exiting Priory Chase is growing day by day, yet there is no traffic control to exit onto Rawreth Lane.

As a resident of the Coppice Gate development, I have, on a regular basis, struggled to guage when it is safe for me to try and get into Rawreth Lane, and have twice caused delay to cars with right of way because we can not see what the lights are doing (although this is easier at night when the lights are reflected off the back of the stop sign).

Until these roadworks are completed, a third set of lights must be set up to faciliate ease of exit from Priory Chase.
