One item on the development committee has been ‘called in’ this week by an Independent Cllr. (Link Here)

The reserved matters application is to deal with

RESERVED MATTERS APPLICATION RELATING TO
ACCESS, LANDSCAPING, LAYOUT AND SCALE FOR
OUTLINE PLANNING CONSENT (18/01144/OUT) FOR THE
DEMOLITION OF AN EXISTING DWELLING AND
CONSTRUCTION OF A TWO STOREY BUILDING FOR 5
FLATS

The application has been recommended for refusal but only one of the ward Councillors has decided that the application should be looked at on the basis of

  • Parking – parking spaces are minimal
  • Cycling – lack of cycling storage provision
  • Size – the building could be ‘overbearing’

It remains to be seen if these reasons will be enough to persuade the committee to refuse the application against the officers recommendation of approval, particularly given that should the application go to appeal, the government planning inspector is happily rubber-stamping many developments against the decision of the committee.
