From the District Council website, some good news:
The Council has agreed to allow free parking in all of its car parks for the whole of the four Saturdays before Christmas.
On 29 November and 6, 13 and 20 December residents can enjoy free parking all day in the Council’s car parks to encourage support of the District’s own shops and businesses.
Cllr Keith Hudson, Portfolioholder for Planning & Transportation, said: “This is excellent news for residents and all those using our shopping centres, and recognises the contribution local businesses make to our economy. I understand the difficulties everyone is experiencing as a result of the ‘credit crunch’ and the downturn in the economy, and the Council wants to do what it can to help. I believe this initiative sends out a positive message of support to our residents and businesses in these unprecedented difficult times every little bit helps!”.
