RDC IT Systems Limp Back Into Action

It’d be fair to say that RDC won’t be winning any awards for ‘Best Use of Technology In Local Government’ anytime soon. For the past week, their email systems have been inoperable once again. If you’ve sent any emails or online forms you might want to consider resending them.

The Council has issued the following on their website (which surprisingly is currently working)

The Council is now receiving external emails. We are still experiencing some technical issues with regards to sending emails, so please include a phone number so we can respond to your enquiry as soon as possible. Alternatively, can also contact us using TwitterFacebook or live chat on our website. There will also be a delay in processing any online forms that have been submitted.

If you need to comment on a planning application, please either email rdctempconsults@gmail.com or send a hard copy to: Planning Department, Council Offices, South Street, Rochford, SS4 1BW. Please quote the planning application reference number. If you have submitted a comment since midday on Wednesday 7 November, please re-send either in hard copy or to the above email address. Please note only comments on planning applications will be considered by this email address and therefore personal details should not be sent to this email address. This email address should not be used for any other purpose and unrelated correspondence will be deleted.

Please be advised that any information sent to this email address will be subject to Google’s Privacy Statement which can found here.

This is a temporary measure only and once the technical issues have been resolved comments on applications should be made in the usual way.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

We wonder if this is the type of conversation that is happening internally at RDC right now…..
