Rainy Sunday Afternoon

This afternoon was pretty wet wasn’t it? There weren’t many people around in the High Street – and even fewer near the windmill (though the windmill was closed anyway).

Let’s just hope that the weather is good when the council has its exhibition there about future development! But we still think three hours on a Sunday afternoon is totally inadequate for any kind of genuine consultation. It’s unfair treatment for Rayleigh.

Very few people will have seen the council’s document yet. Here’s the crucial housing map, with Rayleigh on the left, Hockley/Hawkwell in the middle, and Rochford/Ashingdon on the right:

By the way. “SLA” stands for “Special Landscape Area” – an area that shouldn’t be developed..
