The planning application for a an extra flat at the Quest End development in Rawreth Land , Rayleigh (05/00871/FUL) has been refused.

A scheme for 13 houses has already been considered, however this was an attempt to squeeze in an extra flat – to be built on top of some garages.

Local residents were unhappy with the idea- and Chris found one family who had not even been consulted by the council, even though they were only about 25 yards away from the scheme.

Anyway the scheme has been refused in accordance with officer advice. The reasons were the loss of privacy to some existing residents and for affecting the character and appearance of Farm View.
