According to County Highways, it looks like we’ll get maybe one or two new pedestrian crossings in Rayleigh in the next three years. The road outside Rayleigh Station should be top of the list, but there are visibility problems there. Perhaps it will be provided as part of other interchange improvements around the station.
So the site most likely to get a crossing is in Down Hall Road – near Sheriton Square – but that’s also got some layout problems. So don’t expect anything to happen too quickly in either place.
