Over a year after the decision to take over the toilets, Rayleigh Town Council still hasn’t taken over the running of the new Crown Hill toilets! Rochford District Council are still unable to deliver a public toilet facility that meets the correct specification.
Like the project itself, the installation has been ill thought out, with the disabled access being installed incorrectly. The door for the disabled toilets will now need to be reversed so that those approaching the toilet by the ramp won’t have the door open on to themselves.
The cubicle signage is incorrect and there should be individual male & female toilets with one unisex toilet unit.
Local community groups have shown some concern that they may be PAYG, but here at onlineFOCUS, we can confirm there are NO current plans to charge to use the facilities.
