Adult Bodycare for over 55s
The Adult Bodycare sessions will be running across the Rochford District in 2009.

The Blues Bodycare Fit For Life programme began life as a pilot project run in partnership between sportessex, Southend United Community and Educational Trust, Southend Borough Council, activesouthend and Essex and Suffolk Water. The programme was based on a model used in schools for young people but adapted in order to suit the needs and interests of older people.

This five week programme is designed to increase your health and physical activity levels whilst providing you with the information and knowledge that is needed in order to maintain a healthy and physical lifestyle.

Each weekly session consists of theory and practical in order to exercise the mind and body. All of the practical sessions have been designed to suit both men and women and importantly will be fun and designed to be social as well as active!

The five week pilot includes topics such as: An Introduction to Active Living, Dispelling the exercise and ageing myths, The benefits of resistance training, Nutrition and diet basics and Good posture and body alignment.

The programme consists of five weekly one hour sessions. The charge is ?15.00 paid in advance (?3.00 per session).
