The District Council’s “Core Strategy” for future development (the plan that is opposed by so many people in places like West Rayleigh, Rawreth and Hawkwell) will be looked at by a government inspector in May . There will be a form of public inquiry called an examination.
But before that the inspector will come to Rayleigh to explain the nuts and bolts of how the examination will be run.
As the council’s website explains:
A Pre-Hearing Meeting will take place on 24th March 2010 at Rayleigh Civic Suite, starting at 14:00. The purpose of the Pre-Hearing Meeting is to discuss the administrative arrangements and procedures for the Examination Hearings; it is not the time when representations will be heard. It is considered desirable that those who seek to appear at the Examination Hearing make every effort to attend the Pre-Hearing Meeting.
