Bio:
Councillor James Newport joined the Liberal Democrats in 2015. He quickly established himself as a hard working member of our group. Recognised by the late Chris Black he was promoted to Deputy Group Leader and then following Chris' passing, Group Leader.
In 2016 he was elected to represent Sweyne Park & Grange on Rochford DIstrict Council as well as Victoria Ward for Rayleigh Town Council.
In 2018 local elections, James lost his District Council seat by a small margin to the Conservatives.
