This was on the site (or nearby) of the allocated traveller site that still hasn’t been delivered and this application may be the saviour to the Tories promises of delivering a site in that location. However there doesn’t appear to be must haste about it. We’ve not seen it come to development committee yet.

Honestly, anything is better than what is there today. I would support anything being done to improve the space. It is currently an absolute disgrace to Rayleigh. I go past it on the train every day and its a complete dumping ground. It’s the new Rayleigh Dump Site. Its so seriously full of rubbish and I’m sure its getting worse. I complained to the council years ago and of they are couldn’t sort it without spending 000’s of tax payers money and it was a condition of a buyer to clean the space up. Maybe just move Castle Road site there and be done!
