Indian Restaurant Application Set to Be Refused

There’s a planning application at Lubard’s Farm in Rayleigh for one of the old mushroom sheds to be converted into an Indian restaurant. It would be open from 6 pm to midnight each day and share the car parking spaces of the children’s nursery.

Council officers are recommending refusal basically on the grounds that a restaurant like this should be in a town centre rather than a Green Belt site. Unless any councillor ‘refers it up’ to the development control committee by 1pm on Tuesday, it will be refused.
