Looking back at 2020, many will be glad to see the back of it and it will probably be long remembered for the global pandemic, the final curtain for the relationship between the UK and the EU and the loss of so many precious loved ones.
Of course, we should not lose sight of the positives and remember how those brave souls of the NHS and the other key workers have selflessly kept shining so brightly in the face of adversity, the volunteers that have stepped up to help take the strain on key services and the many, many workers that have kept the country ticking over.
We hope now is an opportunity to look forward and that 2021 is kinder to us all.
Of course, your Lib Dem team remains committed to fighting against the stealth closure and stripping of our community assets such as the Mill Hall, Castle Road Hall and Rayleigh Civic Suite and we will continue to hold those responsible to account. We will be laser-focused on doing our best to keep residents informed on the progress of the new local plan despite it being prepared in secret away from public scrutiny and attempt to try and save more of our precious greenbelt from being swallowed up by over-excited property developers.
We are sure we will face many more challenges along the way and we would like to thank you all for your continued support.
Happy New Year to you all
From The Focus Team
