During the height of the pandemic, car parking charges for NHS workers and NHS volunteers, was suspended. With the Conservative government’s roadmap lifting restrictions, the Government has withdrawn the free parking pass that was available, and subsequently, Rochford District Council has withdrawn free parking for the NHS.

Some free parking is available to NHS volunteers, but those who are employed by the NHS will be unable to apply for free parking.

Some residents have been outraged by the decision to withdraw free parking provision to our NHS workers.
