Every week District Councillors receive a “Yellow List” of planning reports . Unless any councillor ‘calls in’ an item, the officers’ recommendations come into effect at 1 pm tomorrow Tuesday.
08/00086/FUL Travellers Joy Pub – Downhall Road Rayleigh- Refurbishment, more decking and new play area .
Recommended for refusal , play area and play equipment causing disturbance for neighbours.
08/00114/FUL 145 Ferry Road Hullbridge – Demolish existing buildings and erect 18 flats.
Recommended for refusal, due to density, disproportionate building , car parking, layout, overlooking, no affordable housing included, insufficient secondary school places
08/00230/COU 37 Websters Way – Rayleigh – Change of use from retail to drinking establishment (we mentioned this one a few weeks ago)
Recommended for refusal – “will encourage congregation of significant numbers of people at the site in the late evening”. Would produce noise and extra disturbance for neighbours.
08/00238/COU 52B Ashingdon Road Rochford.
Change of use of office to accountants office (this changes the use class from B1 to A2)
Recommended for approval.
Is the Travellers Joy Pub application for the work they have already finished?
Our understanding is that the work they have already finished did NOT require planning permission.
The planning application is for new stuff.
Haven’t there been enough changes from “retail” to other uses in the High Street and surrounding areas in recent months? Our town is in danger of becomming a service town!!
What with the high parking charges it’s no wonder people trundle off to Lakeside etc.
Good job that parking at Asda is free though………….
