We’ve been asked to pass on the following good news:

From a Mum/Committee Member of Downhall Under Fives:

I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported us over the last 4 years.Times have been tough, moving into temporary accommodation, fighting for planning permission, negotiating leases, fund-raising and taking our clothes off, but despite all that has been thrown at us, we have survived.

The dedication of all the staff, the support of fellow committee members (past and present), parents, local businesses and the public has been fantastic, and now at last I can say all the hard work and sleepless nights have been worth it. We learnt today that our grant funding application to Essex County Council Early Years and Childcare has been successful and we now have the money to build our new pre-school back on the open space at Ferndale Road, land where the pre-school began 22 years ago.

Without the support and hard work of a lot of people this wouldn’t have been possible, so here’s to at least another 22 years at Ferndale and a very big thank you to Elaine, Denise, Donna and Roy, Lorraine, Maria, Donna M, Lindsay, Hayley, and Michelle for all your hard work and support.

Hayley Bloomfield

Congrats to everyone at Downhall Under Fives – and well done Essex County Council!
