Not forgetting the 16th July when the Combined Rayleigh Churches Family Fun Day will be held at the King George’s Playing Field. Usual attractions with everything free except BBQ and refreshments which will be on sale at low cost. Time 11am until 4pm. Includes inflatables, face painting, sideshows, craft activities, football cage, “No Strings” the very popular puppet group, Punch and Judy and live bands. AND all free.

SPORTS SESSIONS. FREE sports sessions have been provided to Rochford residents to mark 500 days to the London Olympics. Rochford District Council in partnership with Virgin Active held activities in both the Clements Hall Leisure Centre and Rayleigh Leisure Centre. The free classes ran on Tuesday – the landmark day to mark the coming of the 2012 Olympic Games.

I have two questions. Firstly when and where were these sessions advertised? as living near to the Rayleigh Centre I had seen or heard nothing, and secondly, what is the point of phoning to find out what WAS on offer?
