Politicians aren’t always renown for their…ahem ‘truths’. Our candidate, Ian Oakley became a victim of this in the recent May elections when it was alleged that he had taken a part in bullying towards a Conservative candidate.
This, of course, is not something that is tolerated in the Liberal Democrat party and the group leader swiftly took action in making a complaint to Rochford District Council, who have undertaken a full investigation and found this was not at all the case.
The Echo had published details on this case and thankfully have now published a follow-up article publically exposing this mistruth as simply a fictitious claim.
