Following a motion from opposition councillors, there will be an extraordinary meeting of the District Council to receive a presentation on the proposed changes to the NHS , particularly the downgrading of Southend A&E and the location and capacity for elective surgery.
It will be at the Civic Suite In Rayleigh (opposite Holy Trinity Church) at 7:30 Thursday 22 June. The public can attend – and we hope you will – but you cant speak.
there will be a demonstration march down Southend High Street on Saturday. Quite a rare event in our normally undemonstrative area.
