Rochford District Council Local Election Candidates 2023

Cllr James Newport
Downhall & Rawreth

James has served on Rochford District Council since 2016 and is delighted to be selected to stand once again for the Liberal Democrats in Downhall & Rawreth.
Many residents will already know James as their Essex County Councillor for Rayleigh North & also a Rayleigh Town Councillor.
As a hard working Councillor for Rayleigh and the Rochford District, James is determined to continue to work hard for the community and continue to put all residents first in decisions made by the Council.


Elizabeth Brewer
Sweyne Park & Grange

Elizabeth lives in Sweyne Park and Grange Ward and is your Lib Dem candidate in this May’s election. For the last year she has served as one of your Rayleigh Town Councillors. In that time she has enjoyed helping local people. Elizabeth works in education and runs her own business. Recently Elizabeth has campaigned to make Rayleigh a ‘Dementia Friendly Town’.

Sarah Jane Page
Trinity

Sarah Jane has lived and worked in Rayleigh for over 30 years, whilst raising her family. Her business background is accounts and administration led. She is a Rayleigh Town Councillor and has been working hard on projects such as procurement of CCTV and working towards carbon neutral initiatives for Rayleigh.
Sarah thoroughly enjoys her work as a Councillor and loves listening and engaging with her community. She's confident that her background will be well utilised and bring a fresh approach to the District Council.

Richard Linden
Wheatley

Richard has lived in Rayleigh for many years whilst raising his family. He has always taken a keen interest in our town.
Richard works as a business development specialist, with his expertise being in communication and customer care which involves troubleshooting complex issues.
In Richards work, he has visited many towns across the Country and he hopes to draw on those experiences in helping our Districts communities and it's future challenges.
