The development committee was unanimous in its decision to refuse the reserved matters planning application (19/00862/REM) for 5, 2 bedroom flats on Crown Hill, this week. Outline planning permission has been previously granted for this site (18/01144/OUT)

Going against the officers recommendation of approval, concerns were raised by the committee over a lack of parking, parking space size, bin storage, cycle provision and the bulk and mass of the proposed building.

Despite this refusal, the developer now has options available which could be to appeal this decision and/or submit plans for a smaller scheme, perhaps 1 bedroom flats that would be more suitable for a development in this location?

After the meeting, Lib Dem Cllrs Chris Stanley and Craig Cannell told onlineFOCUS, “We were pleased that it was a unanimous decision of the committee to refuse this application as overdevelopment just compounds the infrastructure problems we are already facing in our District.”
