BBC Essex Radio, this morning interviewed ‘United 4 Democracy’ representative, Cllr John Mason, Conservative Cabinet Member Cllr Cheryl Roe & played a pre-recorded statement from Labour discussing our United 4 Democracy #u4d campaign. In a heated comment from the Conservative portfolio holder she remarked that the basis of Cllr John Mason’s statement that 96% of residents surveyed wanted to abolish the cabinet system was “absolute garbage…they probably spoke to 100 people…..”
It would appear that Cllr Roe has a very short memory as quite a few of the consultations that Rochford District Council have run in the past have struggled to obtain views from far in excess of 100 residents, she effectively ‘rubbished’ all those consultations live on air!
Cllr Roe did remind us that we have the 2nd highest recycling rate in the Country, so yes what she said was mainly about rubbish.
