Cleaning Up The School Run

Residents may have noticed the lack of congestion on our local roads over the last month or so. Without a doubt ‘the school run’ contributes significantly to the level of traffic on our roads which in turn has a devastating effect on the levels of air pollution in the District.

Our own recent air quality studies, discovered dangerously high levels of air pollution outside two schools in Rayleigh. However, despite numerous pleas from opposition Councillors, Rochford District Council have still not taken any serious action to address these concerns.

In other areas of the country, there are reports that the school run has been banned. Read the report here in the Guardian and let us know if you think we should be doing more in our District to combat air pollution.
