Rochford District Council has decided without any public consultation to remove the facility to pay by card from 1st July 2018. However, our use of the councils car parks in Rayleigh has discovered that payment by card has already been removed.
We’re not sure if this is simply a case of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing.
What do you think? Is this a regressive move by the council?
The fact that card payment has been stopped is not the only thing that I have noticed, and I wonder how many other people have? When you pay for up to 1 hour’s parking, you really only get 50 minutes. How many people have been charged with parking fees due to overstaying the time when they thought they were well within the hour of fee paid?
