Bellwinch’s planning application for part of the Read’s Nursery site was refused at Sept 25th’s planning meeting – unanimously.
Chris moved refusal on the grounds of:
– overdevelopment without regard to the quality of urban living
– unsatisfactory design and layout
– lack of phasing of educational and medical facilities
– archaeological survey required
Chris and Ron spoke against the scheme and were really delighted to be supported by all the other councillors.
It’s not over – Bellwinch can appeal, and we know something will be built here sooner or later. But hopefully we can get something better than the present scheme- and maybe we get a doctors surgery and schooling sorted out.
