We are pleased to see the High Street is back in(g) business mostly. The lockdown restrictions mean that many non essential businesses will be reopened today and the Lib Dem’s have been speaking with various business owners and can report that many are off to a good start.
We hope that easing of restrictions is sustained and business owners can look forward to rebuilding albeit without the support of the local council who have failed to act in a positive way to offer any support to those struggling business owners. It’s a hard pill to swallow knowing that so many other Council’s and business groups around the country have been working hard to make their High Streets successful. Leadership has certainly been lacking in economic recovery for our District with just £50,000 budgeted for the whole district and we’ve yet to hear how this will be spent.
