Rayleigh’s Big Olympic Family Funday.

Our Family Funday celebrates the Olympic Handover.

Bank Holiday Monday 25th August. From 10am-4pm

Rayleigh & District Chamber of Trade have taken the first step of creating a Family Funday to promote the importance of community within Rayleigh.

The festival will be held on Bank Holiday Monday 25th August From 10am-4pm in King George V Playing Fields. Websters Way Rayleigh. Ample parking is free in Websters Carpark & all other town carparks.

The festival is in association with Rochford District & Rayleigh Town Council, Rayleigh Lions Club, the Rotary Club of Rayleigh Mill and Rotary Inner Wheel. Southend Radio will be supporting the event with live broadcasts from the festival.

FREE ADMISSION includes Archery – Arts and Crafts – Bouncy Castles (5 Various Types & Sizes) – Children?s Zone (Many Activities) -Classic Cars/Buses – Classic Fire Engines – Chinese Culture & Exhibitions – Concession Stalls (Various) – Disability Zone – Fencing Displays – Go-Karting – Refreshments – Traction Engines – Olympic Zone –

Plus: A rare opportunity to visit the ?Top of The Tower? at Rayleigh Holy Trinity Church for spectacular views across the whole of Rayleigh, surrounding districts and prominent land marks (Canary Wharf etc).

To keep it topical, this year’s theme will be based on the handover of the Olympics, so the day will highlight the handover of the torch from the Chinese delegation to Carl Watson, President of the Chamber of Trade.

Carl says “With the runaway success of the Christmas Lights in the High Street, we want to create a summer event that offers the same family orientated values to promote the spirit of community.

  • The Churches fun day is free. The only thing that the public need pay for will be food and drinks. E mail me for further details.
    I do not see why Rayleigh Town Council is associated with either event as both are being charged for use of the field. Only one person voted for free use for these two events and I should have asked to be named as this person. There should be no charge by the Town Council for events like this WHICH ARE for the benefit of the town and residents might like to see what items of expenditure are being given the ok.
