The District Council have refused planning permission for the the change of use of Ashingdon Hall, mainly on the grounds of ‘loss of amenity”. The motion for refusal was moved by Cllr Terry Cutmore and supported by almost every councillor (one independent councillor abstained, eveyone else voted for it). There were numerous speakers, beginning with Cllr Mrs Longegan from Ashingdon Parish Council, and they were listened to intently by the public who filled the seats at the back and overflowed into the car park.
