Stephen Robinson has been chosen as the Lib Dems prospective parliamentary candidate for the new Chelmsford Constituency.
Local Lib Dem members overwhelmingly backed Mr Robinson, from a field of five strong candidates.
The Chelmsford seat is a new constituency – and a very marginal one. On paper , the Tories are slight favourites to win – but there’s not much difference between the predicted Conservative vote and the predicted Lib Dem vote.
So the next election could be very exciting….
