An application has been submitted to Rochford District Council to install 2 electric vehicle charging bays in the BP/M&S Garage on London Road, Rayleigh.

The application indicates there will be a reduction from 18 to spaces to 12 (-6) in current parking to accommodate the bays and infrastructure required.

Although electric vehicle take-up is on the increase, should this be at expense of local residents and the problems caused by these large stores and lack of parking?
