We see that Rayleigh Chamber of Trade have their AGM on April 21st. They are an important body for the town and they will be electing a President, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Secretary and Social Secretary.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens- when we have been out canvassing in our elections we’ve picked up a few concerns from residents about the current trading conditions in the High Street.
In particular when we were out in the snow last weekend one chap spoke to us for a long time , suggesting that a small Tesco might have come back to the High Street if the council had had a different attitude. We’re not sure how true this is, but if anyone can give us more details we’d be pleased to know.
So whats the Latest Chris on the elections, its time for your comments – who will win and who will not?
Jeff, there’s not much point in asking me – I can’t even predict a Lib Dem victory after we’ve won.
But obviously we are making a big effort in Sweyne Park ward and we have a very good team there. Also Valerie Stanton is a very good candidate in Ashingdon and Canewdon – do you want to help deliver some of her leaflets?
As for the rest of the wards – wait and see!
