The Planning Inspectorate Apologises

Back in October we pointed out something strange about how the Inspector carried out the appeal on the “Pond House” in Downhall Road , Rayleigh. She didn’t take council policies into account when deciding the appeal because she said she didn’t know if they were still in force! Chris raised the matter at full council.

The Inspectorate has now sent a long email to the council, which contains an apology from their “Quality Assurance Unit”:

“In conclusion I can only apologise again that you have had cause to write to us about an inspector’s decisions.

However I would stress that all our inspectors strive to provide a very high level of service and work very hard to ensure their decisions are as error free as possible.

Unfortunately, there may be times when mistakes simply occur….
