There are a lot of FixMyStreet reports being made for the town of Rochford at the moment. Here’s an example:
Zebra crossing

I see this as high priority.
Zebra markings and zig zags faded away making crossing almost invisible Sutton road at roundabout with ochford rd
Have reported the same pot holes on Rawreth Lane three times over the last few years on Fix My Street and nothing been done whatsoever.
Still damaging my car too!
All the pot holes on the road from A127 to Carpenters Arms Roundabout have been marked in red paint – well other than the new ones that have appeared since the marking was done. That was done weeks ago – nothing has been fixed. I reported a big pot hole in London Road opposite the Black Barns – still there. Yet somehow the road from Rawreth Lane into Macro has been completely re-surfaced – a side road that wasn’t in that bad condition, while main roads remain dangerously pitted with some becoming almost slalom runs as people try to avoid damaging their tyres and suspension.
High time the Council really got to grips with this situation. Perhaps a few less free meals in the canteen, less expenses, divert the money into something that actually does good for the community – or is that too radical?
CCR, I have also reported the same pot holes in Rawreth Lane but I describe them as a deep rut or channel running parallel to the kerb. I ride a motorcycle and keep well clear of them but should any biker who is unaware of them get a wheel in the channel they would be very lucky not to have a serious accident. I can also confirm that this rut or channel has been in existence for at least two years now and it is a grim situation when our so call highways “authority” are blind to the serious side of this, especially on one of the few major routes through the district. If they have any kind of conscientiousness about people lives they do not appear to show it.
They did repair a couple of potholes at the entrance to the farm half way along Rawreth Lane, and repaired the one on the traffic light junction near Asda for the third time in a few months (and they actually swept up the gravel that came out of the pothole as well).
I can’t understand the refusal to fix the rut that is mentioned above, maybe they think motorists can avoid it by straddling it in their cars, but I can see it could cause real problems for bikers.
Straddling is not possible if a car is on the other side of the road at the time. I have had two major repairs to coil springs as a result and the garage tell me several cars have been damaged by these pot holes.
