A Superloo For Sweyne Park?

Ron’s been asked by a few people whether we could have some kind of public toilet in Sweyne Park.

Not the big, easily-vandalised-and-abused type of public toilet, but a type of ‘superloo’.

It’s going to need a lot of persuasive argument to get this, so before we begin:
Does anybody who uses Sweyne Park have any thoughts on this?

  • Complete madness.

The yob’s can spray graffiti all over it to nicely match that on the kick wall and playground, the council can then turn around and say there is no money to clean it up. Might even attract the sort of people that like to hang around toilets situated in parks – surely not….

No more please – let people go to the loo BEFORE they go to the park.

ps: Would the proposed loo’s be in the shape of a block of flats – no problem to get them approved by RDC planning dept.

  • Or it might give the “Youths” somewhere else to congregate and do whatever they do there other than in the Early Years playhouse at St Nicholas School!!

  • A toilet would be a good idea in the perfect world but unfortunatley I agree with the above two, you are just asking for trouble!

Rayleigh has no where for Youths to meet, Fitz has a youth club but youths from the sweyne park area are not going to walk all that way just for a couple of hours!

My neighbour decided to have a her monthly party on Sat and there were kids swearing and weeing in my front garden if you say anything you end up as a target!

I can imagine the children loitering around there especially if it is all covered over and they don’t get wet! I certainly would use it as I would be worried about the people hanging around there.

  • It would be far cheaper and cost effective to provide incontinence pants to the people who can’t control themselves and spend the rest of the money on policiing to catch the yobs who spray grafitti.

  • I have never seen anybody hanging around the toilets at Hockley Woods, when I have passed them. Also they would not be a lot of good to shelter in either.

Maybe the leisure centre would let you in to use the facilities, now the path links to the park?

  • Why use the Leisure Centre facilities (or ASDAs for that matter) when they have a nice 10 foot wall along the ASDA service yard to use – because that’s what they are using at the moment!
