On the 17th and 18th of September a small panel of 6 councillors – the Local Development Framework Sub-Committee – will meet. It consists of 5 Tories plus Chris Black and will be discussing aspects of future development in our district – such as the notorious “1800 houses in Rayleigh” idea which is hopefully now beeing dropped.

This panel WON’T be making any really crucial decisions next week, but will be discussing some interesting stuff, such as the future of our industrial estates (could they be used for housing?) and school places (are some schools going to be seriously lacking in pupils?).

We only received the agenda for these meetings today, and will write some more when we have properly studied them!

In the meantime you can find more details on the council website here.
