The South East Essex Action Group Alliance have produced a new map – you can see the full-size version? at http://seeaga.uk/map.html It shows proposed developments in this part of the county.
We are told that? tthe new orange tabs are the potential developments from the new Basildon district plan released recently – on top of a map of “definite and potential developments based on local knowledge..”
Yep, the bigger picture that most people do not realise , so far 70,000+ new homes but no commensurate infrastructure upgrading – each Council blindly
meeting central government quotas without realising the overall impact, and it will grow in number still further.
The Chelmsford City proposals are not completed yet.Their proposals could have implications on our district ,drainage and infrastructure . There is a consultation this THURSDAY at Rettendon Memorial Hall Main Road from 6pm ,with an exhibition with three alternatives , two off which include 1250 houses at Rettendon Place i.e. Near the Church . There is also new housing in South Woodham . An upgraded road to South Woodham . Coupled with the Runwell Hospital ongoing developement the increasing pressure on the Crouch will impinge on drainage in Raweth proposals . I suspect that little joined up thinking of the overall drainage effects of all the proposals in Basildon Rochford and Chelmsford Districts will be done .
More bad news emerging from the Basildon Local Plan –
Additional Traveller Sites ( on Green Belt ) and expansion of existing sites
( including Dale Farm????? ) extending into the adjacent Green Belt.
In fact they are proposing 89 pitches more than the calculated “need” and
the main target area is in and around Wickford ( that is next to us in Rayleigh folks ) – don’t forget the RDC “plan” includes a Traveller Site on the doorstep too……
