The Council has been informed that fraudsters are telephoning residents claiming they are from Rochford District Council in an attempt to get people to part with their bank details.
In some cases the fraudsters have telephoned residents claiming to be from the Council and say the residents? have overpaid on their Council Tax. They then request bank details so the overpaid money can be transferred into their account.
