We had a couple of email yesterday regarding ‘maintenance’ issues.
First of all, someone quite rightly pointed out to us that the stretch of Hullbridge Road from Ferndale Road down to Lubbards Farm has a lot of stinging nettles. This isn’t a trivial matter, as the footway is only on one side, it’s used by children and if the vegetation forces them onto the road…..
The same issue cropped up last year, when Chris ended up cutting the stuff back himself. However we have contacted County Highways again and it is now on their work list.
Secondly, we received serious complaints about the state of the sports pitches in Rawreth Lane. They have been described to us as being ‘unplayable’ and ‘a disgrace’ and we have asked the District Council to respond.
To be fair to Highways I complained about the stinging nettles earlier this year and they were cut back within two days.
