Around about 47 years ago Ron moved to Rayleigh and Chris was born, and ever since then we’ve known the wooden bus shelter at the Hambro Hill end of Down Hall Road. To us , it’s more of a Listed Building than a bus shelter!
So we were surprised to see it disappear. Ron did some checking with the Town Council and was told that the shelter was so badly damaged in last week’s gales that it had to be demolished. It was insured, and we hope that the Town Council will put another wooden one there, instead of a new-fangled glass and metal one.
