Support for Skateboarding – but Where’s the Money for it?

As mentioned below, the petition for a skateboarding facility in Wakering was discussed at a District Council committee meeting on Sept 30th.

Credit where it’s due – Tory Councillor Barbara Wilkins made a very effective, almost passionate speech on behalf of the young people involved. Chris Black followed her by saying he was very pleased to see the Skateboarding Area being created at the old Park School Site in Downhall and Rawreth Ward, and that we should work as one district, and he hoped one could provided in Great Wakering if there was a suitable site.

Unfortunately there’s no signs yet of the administration actually finding any money towards creating a facility. Independent Councillor Heather Glynn suggested asking the Star Partnership for financial help
