Residents have been short changed by a short sighted Council who freely admit that over 5000 transactions a month are made by using the payment kiosks in the council offices. Now Rochford District Council has informed residents via it’s Facebook page that this service will be withdrawn on 22nd May 2018 citing GDPR as the reason for their withdrawal. When questioned on the specifics, they have been unable to comment.
Your Lib Dem team know that not everyone has a bank account and access to direct debits / card payments and think that residents should be able to make payment of these bills using the primary method of payment in this country, good old cash!
