Update – Cllr Stanley has had a phone call from Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment after he has read this post. We’re told this problem will now be looked into. (Good to know that our blog posts are helpful to the Council!)
The frustration of seeing culverts blocked seems to be a never-ending story. Whilst out walking today, this one that runs underneath Rawreth Lane, was noted as having a large amount of debris blocking it.
This issue has been put forward to the flood forum by our flooding supremo, Cllr Stanley, for further discussion at the beginning of March. We hope to report back that these drainage systems will be properly maintained proactively, as opposed to reactively.
