Cutting services like reducing bin collections and passing the costs of running public toilets to parish councils is one way of reducing the expenditure by the District Council. Other ways of trying to balance the books is by increasing their income through raising council tax and charging more for car parking.

The Rochford District Residents have published their own survey which can be viewed here and it’s always good when the opposition comes up with an ‘alternative’ budget. So, in between eating the last mince pie and finishing off the quality street, spare a couple of minutes to see what the real ‘alternative’ could be.
