  • We could hear it over the television. I’ve got nothing against the showground as such, although I think the exit/entrance is dangerous, but do the Council monitor noise from these events at all or impose any form of curfew.

  • The ‘Rave’ type event last year which caused many complaints on this site was clearly audible from my house in Rawreth Lane. In contrast, I heard nothing from this VW event which was raising funds in aid of the Air Ambulance. This fund raiser is usually held annually at the Battlesbridge Antiques site and as I understand it causes no great problems there. I am wondering why they have chosen to move to Crouch Valley Showground.

  • Greenbelt – it is’nt the same show ( the Battlesbridge one is in June ), the one last weekend moved there ( from Stansted) last year – more room was needed.

  • Christine – I spoke to the licensing people yesterday. They visited the site the day before with the police and fire service to check things over and get proper liaison between the council and the emergency services. If there are noise problems on the night (or any night like this) then it is the police who should be called.

  • Thanks Chris. I think noise depends to a great extent on wind direction. At least, with quite a few people camping overnight before and after the event there were no real traffic problems there this year, and people said the parking was better organised as well this time, there were no problems in Beke Hall Chase and other roads unlike the year before.
