The Local Highways Panel meets next Friday at 10 am in the Civic Suite at Rayleigh (opposite Holy Trinity Church). You can find the full agenda here.

And here’s what the officers are saying about the proposed pedestrian crossing opposite Lubbards Farm in Hullbridge Road. As you? can see, it’s not very helpful (you can click on it to enllarge)

It’s very disappointing not to get the officers support on this when we have councillors from different parts of the district and different political parties supporting this. You can expect a fairly heated discussion….

  • Sean, the criteria is normally based on “PVsquared” – where P is the number of pedestrians and V is the number of vehicles (using the site within a certain time period).
    Also the speed limit is a factor – above 30 mph you have to have s signal-controlled crossing
