There are two controversial Rayleigh planning applications on this week’s “yellow list”.? Officers are recommending that one is refused and the other one approved, and this will come into effect for each one unless any Councillor calls it in by? 1? pm on? Wednesday.

The one recommended for REFUSAL? is for an extra house in the garden of 89 Down Hall Road (the house with the lake).

Officers are recommending refusal – basically on the grounds that the house is out of keeping with the spacious and uniform street scene of Lakeside, it gives a contrived and awkward relationship with the houses around it, and this sis symptomatic of over-devlopment.

The one recommended for APPROVAL is for a take-away in the empty newsagents shop in London Road. 46 residents have objected. However officers are recommending approval , however with a closing time of 10:30 pm instead of 1:00 am which is what the applicants asked for.

No links to these yet on the council website…
